#Going underground (going underground) going undergroouu-ooouu-nd#

As mentioned on Wednesday the Loire has a hell of a lot of caves dug into the limestone around the place, and the castle at Brézé was built on the site of an ancient (12th century no less) series of underground dwellings, and can also lay claim to the deepest dry moat in Europe (being 18 metres deep).

After some subterranean wanderings and a look through the interior of the building itself (which once again didn't match the attractive exterior) we buzzed about a few small towns and villages, looking in on a couple of churches, and stopping for gallettes for lunch.

Should I mention that the weather is still fabulous?
