Christmas Eve In The Ocean Of Storms.

The setting Sun catches the flanks of the Caucasus Mountains, throwing into relief the great craters of Ptolomaeus, Alphonsus, and Arzachel, as well as the central peak in the crater Albategnius.

Further north, to the south of Plato in the Sea of Rains, we find the lonely peak of Mount Pico before moving south to the craters Aristillus, Autolycus and the ghostly walled plain of Archimedes.

Amongst the Lunar Highlands we find Tycho, Longomontanus, Maginus and Clavius.

I like to get the chance to explore the Moon - not often do I do this before breakfast.

Merry Christmas everyone!
