Calm after the storm

After a horrendous drive from Edinburgh with an emergency cross country diversion to rescue stranded mother in law from a broken down train in Peterborough, we finally arrived for our family Christmas in Kimpton, Hertfordshire after a what seemed like a never ending journey . Then after a very stormy night calm finely descended giving us chance to have a brisk but very muddy walk to the Brocket Arms pub for a pint of Guinness in from of a roaring log fire, normal service resumed.
