High Water on the Cherwell

The storm dumped plenty of rain around Oxfordshire last night - and the Cherwell was bubbling along merrily as we tried to walk into Mesopotamia (we were foiled by the once-a-year path closure, which was today).

The storm also saw off quite a lot of the local Christmas decorations that I blipped on 15th and 17th December.

The Headington Christmas tree fared particularly badly - this was the scene this morning.

And if anyone is counting, I'm claiming this as some sort of landmark - my photo-a-day project started on 24th December 2004, so this is the 10th 24th December in my collection.
