Convergence

This is the point where the Wey Navigation merges with the river proper... just more enthusiastically than normal. This section of the river floods regularly, but it is some years since I have seen the water so high. From left to right you can just make out:

- water gushing over the lock-gates.
- Willow trees and swans denoting a (submerged) narrow wedge shaped spit between canal and river.
- the foot bridge over the river
- policemen in flourescent jackets...

Otherwise flooding in this area has been limited to large puddles from blocked drains. Fallen trees caused more problems with another power cut, this time lasting 13 hours or so. It's back on now and fingers crossed it stays on.
