Poinsettia

Mum always had a Poinsettia at Christmas. I think it was something my Nana had also and I might need to continue the tradition on now.

It was very important to her to have a Poinsettia leading up to Christmas. She didn't think she'd make it to Christmas and then it appeared she would. My sister Jennie helped her get this one 2-3 weeks ago just before she became very ill.

When she was admitted to the hospice it was with her in her room. Today it sat in the middle of our Christmas lunch table.

Mum was present in all sorts of ways today. But she was missing from our table.

I miss my Mum.

(Thank you to everyone who has left such kind and thoughtful comments yesterday. I am humbled and comforted by them).
