Fresh "Winter" Fruit

I love the fresh market near my house. I don't love the meat section so much, but the fresh produce is wonderful. Today I bought some fresh pineapple, tomatoes, mushrooms, and green onions for homemade pizza. A group of students will be coming over to enjoy Christmas dinner with my roommate and me, and pizza is on our menu. Without a doubt, the best way to spend Christmas is with a house full of friends/family, whether you're eating pizza or ham. (And hey, I'm planning on putting ham on the pizza with the pineapple, so we've almost got a traditional meal.)

In this shot, we have ripe papayas on the right, green guavas on the bottom, apples, bananas, pink dragon fruit, oranges, Asian pears, and longan (the brown/yellow balls still connected to their stems in the middle.)

The basket is for collecting your chosen fruit. The person standing behind the fruit table will weigh the fruit and put it in a plastic bag for you. If the table is too wide and the reach too far to exchange money, you can put the money in the basket and the vendor will hand your change back in the basket too.
