Draw the Picture

I've walked past that...whatever that is everyday since I've gotten this camera and wanted to take a picture of it, yet never had the time to do so. Today I walked past this fellow as he was drawing the...thing, and just as I was halfway to my car I thought I would turn around and get it.

I don't know why it looked so interesting, but it just got that much more fun when I saw someone drawing it. I think it was because I knew someone else thought the same thing I did.

Oh yeah, can someone tell me what in the world that is?
