................ blip.

I always like to have some fresh flowers in the house at Christmastime and I saw this arrangement in my local supermarket on Tuesday (this bodes well for a couple of weeks blips at the very least!!!) and thought it a little different.

Bigger Thistles ........

For anyone overseas who is not familiar with Boxing Day here is "Mr Wiki's" explanation:

Boxing Day is traditionally the day following Christmas Day, when servants and tradesmen would receive gifts, known as a "Christmas box", from their bosses or employers. Today, Boxing Day is the bank holiday that generally takes place on 26 December. It is observed in the United Kingdom, Canada, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and some other Commonwealth nations.

In Britain, it was a custom for tradesmen to collect "Christmas boxes" of money or presents on the first weekday after Christmas as thanks for good service throughout the year. This is mentioned in Samuel Pepys' diary entry for 19 December 1663. This custom is linked to an older English tradition: since they would have to wait on their masters on Christmas Day, the servants of the wealthy were allowed the next day to visit their families. The employers would give each servant a box to take home containing gifts and bonuses, and sometimes leftover food.

Later today we will be having left-over food from yesterday, along with pickles, salad and maybe a few homemade chips - we have already eaten the left over veggies and mashed potato (there wasn't much) in the form of "bubble and squeak" as part of breakfast.
:o))

Onward into 2014 ..... where does the time go!

Happy times blip-buddies.
