River Leven at Balloch

After a few days in the house caused by a combination of holidays and bad weather, today we headed off to Dumbarton for a day with some of the wider family and more gift exchanging.

As it was the first nice day we have had a for a while (dry, calm and mild) we drove to Balloch and allowed ourselves an hour long walk before driving back to Dumbarton. Unsurprisingly the River Leven was very high and along the side of Balloch park near to where it flows into Loch Lomond, it had spread out into the wood and over the riverside paths.

It was great to get out and grab some fresh air and a walk and the park had a lot of people doing the same as us.

I chose this photo to blip for the simple reason of the bird walking along the side of the partially sunken row boat in the bottom right foreground. It amused me.
