MetOffice says 'Widespread westerly gales are expected to last much of today bringing gusts of 50 to 60 mph inland. This warning has been updated to extend it into parts of the Central Belt of Scotland.

The public should be aware of the potential for disruption, especially where the high winds are combined with heavy rainfall.'
