134 Reflection

134 years since the Tay Bridge Disaster.

The catastrophic event on the evening of 28th December 1879 was 'commemorated' by the Dundonian 'poet and tragedian' William Topaz McGonagall in his notoriously awful piece of Victorian literature The Tay Bridge Disaster

Alas! I am very sorry to say
That ninety lives have been taken away
On the last Sabbath day of 1879,
Which will be remember’d for a very long time
