Tea Time with friends

Friday afternoon I went to the home of an ex-driver's and her partner. They had a few of us who were or are still drivers over for tea and cookies. We had a lovely time chewing the "fat" and eating the cookies and drinking all kinds of tea.

Later in the evening Big R and I went out to North City Bistro in Shoreline Wa. to hear friends of Ann and Arvin's---Ann of Artist Annie's . The jazz trio were friends of Ann and Arvin's---Jyl did the vocals and her husband Chris was on the bass guitar. Also part of the trio was an excellent jazz drummer whose name I didn't catch. But she was also very good. Jyl has an amazing voice that gave me goose bumps from it's sweet soaring quality. The evening was superb in many ways....most of all enjoying the fellowship with the Chaikins and Ann's brother and Arvin's daughter. What a delight they were. The bistro had such excellent food choices too...lots of great solo veggie dishes like roasted asparagus and baked cauliflower. We don't ordinarily go out many evenings, but this was one I'm glad we didn't miss. Thanks so much Ann and Arvin for a fine evening of superb jazz and food and company. A perfect combination.
