Garden Of The Gods, Colorado.

This view is known as Cathedral Valley, due to the red rock formation shaped like Cathedral spires. It was created along a natural fault line, millions of years ago and the deep red, pink and white sandstone rocks were pushed up into various positions. Archaeologists found that in 1330 BC prehistoric people lived there. From 250 BC it was a Native American camping ground for several tribes and part of it is their tribal Holy Ground, hence the name Garden of the Gods. It is a natural monument, quite near to my daughter's house and is my favourite place to walk. Today it became overcast and windy and is now snowing a bit. We hope to go again when the sun is shining to get some more pictures of this beautiful area.
