In another time and place, working late in the office, we produced artistic masterpieces using only our faces and a photocopier. This was his best shot, so I kept it safe.

His politics were to the right of Attila the Hun, while I was still dreaming of a Marxist-Feminist state. Last night, he reminded me that the first time we met I yelled at him for holding a door open for me.

Thirty years on, and he’s now a bigshot on the other side of the planet, with some fancy title like ‘Managing Director of the Bank of the Entire Southern Hemisphere’.
