A very different Christmas

Started the day off with a traditional morocan breakfast. Then it was time to see some sights around the new/modern Marrakech. There is definitely a contrast between staying around the medina and the modern districts about 1.5 miles down. The newer part has some swanky neighborhoods with lush vegetation surrounding it. Also there are open spaces for camel rides just outside the city as well.
After the hour long circuit and lunch at Golden Arches we got off to see some local attractions likes the tombs and the ruins of the The Badia Palace where this picture was taken. It was a unique experience exploring ruins of a dynasty which existed in the 1500's.
After sight seeing, it was time for Christmas dinner at a popular French restaurant in the new quarter.
