Well the cold came and took up residence... Looks like we have a few more days of this crazy weather. Well, okay, it gets this cold (even colder) around here... I just wish it wouldn't. ;)

This hairy woodpecker found a nice dead tree to drill. (And from the looks of the tree, she wasn't the first to hunt for nutrition in it.) I liked the natural ladder she was using to climb along the side of the tree. She spent quite a lot of time pecking around the fungus growths, so there must have been something yummy tucked in there. :)
