A Day At A Time.

Sky Riders

The day started with the mountain cloaked in thick, wet cloud. We were going to get soaked, there was no doubt about that, but the promise of a sunny afternoon was enough to have us out on the slopes in good time.

I had bought a pair of ski boots last night when we arrived, in the sale - 30% off. I was itching to try them out, so off we went into the fog. It's a strange sensation trying to ski when you can't differentiate any contrast in the ground.

But after an hour or so, the sun broke through and the rest of the day was a wonderful, warm and sunny time. The snow was pretty good, although a lot of it was man-made overnight, but no matter.

By four o'clock we'd had enough for one day, so we went back to the hotel (it was ski in/ski out) and sat in the sauna for a while to relax.

It has been a brilliant first day and the forecast for tomorrow is cloudless skies.
