Back to Exeter

Darling son number 2 needed dropping off at Exeter station so Tricia spotted the opportunity for some winter sale shopping - hurrah.....
The park and ride bus - anything to avoid Exeter's awful traffic issues - drives through some dreary semi-industrial areas and drops you off outside Macdonalds on a nondescript urban road full of the shops you see everywhere. However less than a hundred metres from there, you suddenly come into the cathedral close and this view of the newly restored West entrance to the cathedral.
Over eight hundred years old, the stonework now gleams as new although much of the carving has been really weathered. Interesting to know what has happened to the missing statue - it was then about ten years ago....
The less said about the shopping aspect of the trip the better.
