There is nothing like this Dame

Notice the DVD of Mrs 'Arris Goes to Paris, a seminal classic of the genre (what genre, I know not). Dame Diana Rigg and plain old Angela Lansbury. But no more, because as of now it's Dame Angela Lansbury of Cabot Cove.

To be honest, I'm not big on honours, but this is Ange, doyenne of stage and screen, and muse of everyone from Walt Disney to Stephen Sondheim! Edisteve and I are off to see her in Blithe Spirit in London's West End in the spring and rather excited. I imagine she is rather touched by our little tribute.

Of course, both ladies are already thoroughly distinguished, Dame Di being the ex-wife of aristo Archie Stirling, and Dame Angela the granddaughter of Labour Party leader Lord Lansbury.
