Gillipaw's Journal

Fast Away the Old Year Passes

Hogmanay walk late afternoon in Pollok Park, after a day in the kitchen. A very fast flowing White Cart, at an even higher level than a year ago.

As we head towards The Bells, I have much to reflect on during this last year, and pray for happier and healthier times in 2014. It was a struggle, but #2 made it through, and is doing well now. Thankful for so much, particularly the support of family and friends, and the medical staff involved in his ongoing care.

Two songs I'm singing this evening : Caledonia by Dougie MacLean (he's singing this at Stirling Castle just before The Bells), and my favourite version of Auld Lang Syne sung by Eddi Reader. I also like Mairi Campbell's, very peaceful and contemplative.

Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year,
