Not a good start

As feared it is now 99.9% certain the weaker colony didn't make it. There was very little activity the last few days, bees in the last throws of living. I didn't try disturbing them not even looking behind the entrance restrictor. Today I saw no activity and so removed the entrance and swept the bottom board with a stick.

This photo shows the result! Sadly not a swarm but a pile of corpses.

Very sad but I will take it as a motivation to get it right in 2014.
