Lanterns

Such a lovely day today. Never thought I would be spending any New Years Day in Doha!
Doug and I went down to the Corniche for a walk . It was sunny and warm.A bite of lunch overlooking Doha city.
A visit to the Damien Hirst exhibition. Stunning, breathtaking, challenging, revolting, exquisite, extraordinarily clever. The two diamond encrusted skulls just have to be seen…sorry seriously no photos allowed.
Ended up in the souk for dinner in a Lebanese Restaurant. Delicious. A first for both of us.

Opposite the restaurant was an Art Gallery. These colourful lanterns all made of small glass pieces were hanging two storeys up from the ceiling. Beautiful. The whole gallery was tremendous.
Took me a few tries to get a decent photo. This was the best of the bunch. Again so many to chose from today.

A wonderful day out. Sadly I return to France on Sunday and won't be seeing Doug for three months.
