A warm year

The lump of coal at first footing is supposed to mean your house will be a warm all year, and as this is Welsh anthracite, the hottest, purest coal in the world, our house should be superbly warm! It was kindly given to us ( a little in advance) by our Welsh relatives, and led to a surprisingly interesting conversation about coal and all its ways. In which, uncle John demonstrated that after thirty or more years in coal-mining, he can pick up a piece of coal and tell you not just what mine it is from, but what seam it is from.

Happy New Year!

I know no-one has time for a lot back-blips, but I do think this one is quite entertaining.

Running: 7k, again. Slow, though.
