Patchwork patterns

Over the last few days I have been working on making some patchwork samples for a beginners class I'll be teaching in a couple of weeks time. There's something really lovely about the slow, steady progress you make when hand patchworking, cutting the paper pieces, tacking them together before carefully hand stitching. The best fun, and what I find takes the most time, is choosing the fabrics. For this piece 'lone star', I am using three colours of a beautiful sunflower batik.
