Cutting through the countryside

Yesterday was just about a non-event what with recovering from a late night the night before and making do with scarcely any light outside because of the windy weather and rain. Situated on the very top of a hill, we could not escape the noise of the storms which in the end made us all very irritable!

Today I woke up with the return of my cold which had been banished from existence a week or so ago! In the afternoon N and I took the dog for a walk down the lane and across our neighbour's land to the old railway bridge. I was just thinking how old and dilapidated it looked when the fast train from Waterloo suddenly trundled over it at great speed on its way to Devon. It was gone in a flash slicing its way through the quiet countryside.

The weather forecast is bad again with more flooding and rain tonight.
