Traditions

Every year, on the 2nd of January, Granada commemorates 'La Toma', the day when the "Catholic Monarchs " ended the conquest of the city.
After the Granada War ended 2 January 1492, the old Muslim-ruled Kingdom of Granada became part of the Crown of Castile.

An official procession is held in which some symbols of the city are taken out into the streets so that people can remember this day.
It seems there are people who do not agree with these celebrations and every year in the Town Hall square, people of different political ideas get out their corresponding flags and shout at each other.
I am getting fed up with all of them!!
