Arthur's Seat from the Botanics

C1 got me out of the house and we went down to the Botanics. I knew it would be brown and damp and a bit bare, but in between all the naked trees the rhododendrons have green buds starting, and there are irises out, as well as vinca and that bush with the tiny sweet smelling bunches of blossoms. So it was a lovely experience.

The clouds were moving fast across the sky, and there was a chill breeze, but we were properly wrapped up and a nice hot cup of tea in the cafe just warmed us up nicely.

This was one of my Grandad's favourite views of Edinburgh, from the Alpine garden.
