Surrey Flooding

Lots of news and traffic reports about flooding in Surrey. On Christmas Eve, Leatherhead (which a mile or so from home) was on the BBC news as it flooded, where people were wading waist deep in water or the fire brigade were using a boat!

After another heavy rainfall yesterday, I was expecting the worse, especially as the family car was due an MOT and the garage is in Leatherhead.

The River Mole had burst its banks in Cobham as you see from the photo, but it sounds like it got worse as that is closed this evening. Although I had to come through Leatherhead this evening and it was ill timed roadworks that were causing traffic, and not water!

Another surprise on the 2nd January is seeing hot cross buns for sale in the supermarket!
