Art trying to imitate life

Went to my first foundation drawing course at the art gallery tonight. Was my first life drawing experience ever. I thought I would be embarrassed for the model, but it was very impersonal in a strange way.

The teacher is good - made lots of encouraging comments to everyone and made us stick to 10 second scrawls to free our gestures.

My goal is to set aside my ego and learn. I felt moments where it clicked and I felt the charcoal made something beautiful.
