Marooned

No picnic on the riverside today! Even the swans had left the river to shelter under the bushes on the bank or to seek the few visitors with carrier bags of bread who had braved the bitter wind. Only the gulls were enjoying the new "lakes".

Nevertheless we are extremely lucky to live in this part of the country which seems to escape the worst of the weather. We feel so sorry for people who are suffering the weather conditions we are seeing on TV.
