This is something you REALLY don't see every day

The path beside the River Avon at Cumberland Road was beginning to flood as we arrived en famille to catch the drama. It rose quickly, and we could see ahead that the road was flooded, and a makeshift barrier had been erected to stop the floodwaters entering the harbourmaster's car park. As we walked around the docks we found the lochgates had been breached into the floating harbour. It was all very exciting, but after sheltering from the wind in a coffee shop a while, we emerged to find that the floodwaters were already abating.
