For a High Tide

It was said, before the event, that the high tide around the Isle of Man today would be a one in fifty year event.

This photograph was taken about an hour before high tide. Water is beginning to wash over the harbour side. Shortly afterwards the water entered the main street of Ramsey called Parliament Street.

However in the end, although there was some flooding, it was not as drastic as a tide about ten or twelve years ago.

On that occasion I remember one well known local character rowing a boat down the street contrary to the normal flow of the traffic.
