International Brigades Monument - Jubilee Gardens

My friend Andy was in London for a few days we met up and, in between the downpours, walked from Westminster to the Tate Modern. Along the way we passed three sculptures by Ian Walters The Mandela Statue in Westminster, an earlier oversized bust of Mandela outside the Festival Hall and this piece in Jubilee Gardens near the London Eye which commemorates the volunteers of the International Brigade who went to fight Fascism in the Spanish Civil War.
The inscription reads "They went because their open eyes could see no other way"
