Scratchy/limestone

(A Scratchy image for the topic today, the closest I came to scratchy is the rough limestone bricks this building was made from.
There is a kookaburra in the trees somewhere we could definitely hear one!!)

We had a wander around the University of Western Australia which sits on the swan river, later we took Milo our water loving Labrador to the river for a good run and swim.
The uni is a good location for wedding photographs with its many covered arched walkways, we saw the young bride (on the left)with the groom and their photographer almost at every corner we turned.

Teaching began here in 1911
The founding Chancellor, Sir John Winthrop Hackett, died in 1916, and bequeathed property which, after being carefully managed for ten years, yielded £425,000 to the University.
This allowed the construction of its magnificent main buildings on the present-day campus. Many buildings and landmarks within the University bear his name, including Winthrop Hall and Hackett Hall (above)....
It sits on around 65 hectares of land, holds over 19,000 undergraduates and over 5,000 post graduate students.
In 2013 was ranked 84th in the world..
