One of my jobs on the boat is to keep the stove alight. Sometimes, it is easy; sometimes, it is difficult. Sometimes, I remember what works; sometimes, I don't. Sometimes, the kindling is cut to the right size properly; sometimes it isn't. This piece isn't.
