Snapshots of rural France

Fire

Outside it has been a very grey day. I have done some more studying, sent in my 4th assignment! I have played with some photos, done some cooking. The nice thing is even on a day like this, the open fire in our lounge has been lit all day. It was lovely to hear someone lighting the fire early in the day, to know that our intention to be at home for the day was clear. Cosy, a relaxing day doing 'stuff' together in front of the fire. (oh and watching an FA cup match on TV that was surprisingly exciting!). To hear the crackling of the fire and feel the warmth, see the warm colours, the dancing shadows. To know that there is plenty more dry wood stored away for when you need it. Makes you feel safe and comfy. We have, from time to time, been tempted to install a wood burner, but we are sometimes glad we haven't yet...

More about fire and our love of it
