Police Scotland Day 280 - Mountain Rescue

A large-scale mountain rescue operation involving Braemar, Police Scotland and Aberdeen Mountain Rescue Teams was carried out in the Southern Cairngorms on Sunday 5 January 2014.

The Operation was carried out following reports of a man having fallen over a cliff edge in the area of Coire Sputan Dearn.

Here, the Mountain Rescue Team are pictured with the injured man waiting in 'clear' weather for the helicopter to arrive, having carried the casualty 2km in appalling conditions.
