DIY Flash Diffuser

Following on from yesterday's blip, this is my first attempt at a DIY flash diffuser - made from IKEA kitchen drawer liner, which is rather like solid bubble wrap. I found the design as you might guess on t'internet (the Instructibles www site).

I'm also aiming to get my old Vivitar 283 back into use as it works well enough and has a similar guide number to the modern Canon flash I have on my 50D.

At the moment I'm at the stage of 'too many variables' so triggering the Vivitar via a photo cell and 'footering about' with the settings on both it and the Canon to have neither of them dominant. This is a test shot just to convince myself the Vivitar is actually firing at the right time .....
