Ficus benghalensis

We were fascinated by these magnificent Indian Banyan (fig) trees that grow on the island. Roots grow down from the canopy and intertwine to form massive structures. What appear to be two trees here, actually have conjoined branches in the canopy and also share at least one additional "trunk" that is further back and not visible in this image.
