Life in Newburgh on Ythan

Post-gale tranquility

I think that I may have a new world record to announce. Over the last few days, the water issuing from our taps has been scalding hot. So, this morning I rang up Scottish Gas, with whom we have a maintenance contract. Spoke to a nice lady in a call centre in Wales. Fifteen minutes later the door bell rang and there was the gas engineer! He very efficiently fitted a new thermostat and some valve or other. Result! Ave Scottish Gas!

This was the tranquil scene at the harbour of Port Erroll this afternoon. The vertical poles were once used to dry the bag nets used in the commercial coastal salmon fishery.
