Ohau Range

Another stunning day, sunny and no wind, and 4 of the 6 blokes were off heli biking. Heli lift to the top of Ben Ohau and then bike down. For some reason I was less than inclined and so Ian and I decided to walk up. We coaxed our weary bodies, still recovering from skiing yesterday, up 1000 vertical metres and 2 hours later we also reached the top. Without the helicopter. Stunning views!

Then a descent down the side of the mountain, via a scree slope, and four hours later we were back at the bottom. Simply awesome walk and very satisfying.

Then back to our fantastic house to relax with an ice cold beer. Four of the group then headed back to Christchurch. Kiwidino stayed another night, a day of work ... ;-)
