Meet Maggie

Chugging along on a very controlled and cruisy office day today. not much to do with the animals but this fluffy youngster was found out of the nest in zoo grounds late this afternoon and brought up to us.

We don't have a good network of carers to be able to tackle all the needs of the wild juvenile herons and egrets that get brought in, (they have apt of problems with bone deformities on captive diets and we can't usually provide the same nesting environments that they need to help their gangly legs and feet develop properly), and usually they are too injured or debilitated to try. But the Aussie section of the zoo is looking to add an egret into the collection and Maggie got the green light to go ahead and hand raise!

Apologies again for my commenting tardiness!! My computer keyboard is almost unusable at the moment and commenting usually ends in frustration and cursing! Havn't the time or money to get it looked properly at the moment :( I am browsing and 'starring' though!!!
