The 'good things' jar

One week into this new year and our 'good things' jar is filling up nicely. We try to sit at the table for evening meals and take turns at telling everyone about our day. A new addition this year is the jar into which we put little notes with particularly happy things on. Can be big or small, just the things that make us smile and which we'd like to remember. We plan to open them all up at the end of the year and remind ourselves of those moments. I think its really important to encourage a positive outlook and this seems like a good toddler friendly way to do it, and one with which we can all join in.

Dylan's really getting into it. He likes to try and write his own down.
Amongst the entries this week is that he actually told me a FUNNY joke! i'm pretty sure he got it from Grandma or at least heard it somewhere else first but he managed to relay it properly and Lily giggled her little head off..

Brace yourselves...

"what is a sheep's favourite food?"
"a chocolate baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"

(he then went on to adapt it by trying to tell me "sheep like pineapple too" and wouldn't buy my explanation that it doesn't quite work unless you say baaaaaaaaaa at the end)

love him :)
