Sisters

One passion I've had since I was a teenager was birds and I would love going off on long walks and treks with an old friend of the family. Charlie taught me to appreciate and love the fantastic variety available in every bird variety here in Scotland and I have never lost that appreciation.

It was a delight, and a surprise, to see a family of Red Breasted Mergansers on the Water of Leith pathway today. The females tend to be described as dowdy but I disagree - their colouration and markings are stunning!
