Outside the walls ...

My car key would no longer work the central locking on my husband's car, so we asked for it to be mended. The garage needed the car for a few hours to re-programme the key. Progress in some ways seems to be one step forward and one back.

Walking into Chichester from the garage, I had a good view of the old Roman wall surrounding the city, with the Cathedral dominating the skyline. Beautiful sunny day. The wall is mainly flint, plentiful in this area. The photo is taken from the West Fields which back in the day were used for farming while the houses and folk stayed safe inside the city walls. Today there are sports fields and walks here.
