Embedding a Culture of Ownership

According to John Lewis Partnership,it is the culture of ownership that matters most when it comes to employee ownership. There are three rewards of ownership that matters most which guide the partnership; as an owner you have the right to knowledge, you have the right to profit and you have the right to power.

Kim Lowe who is also a Director on the John Lewis Partnership Board spoke enthusiastically of the JLP approach to employee engagement, "It's in our DNA, people with the right behaviour will produce the right results". Everyone is accountable, the staff council have the power to sack the chairman and this has happened.

All in all an inspiring address from a leader of a company that year in year out produces results that consistently outperform the market.
