Boat Lift

I took a shot of boats being titivated on the wharfe hard standing the other day. This contraption is what the boats are hoisted onto from the water. The boat's then wheeled across the car park to the work area, balanced on piles of bricks, the hoist removed and wheeled back to the harbour side.

Since I started my new job, and as I park on the harbour early morning before the car park fills up, I've only ever seen the boat lift standing on it's wheels, empty near the harbour side. Perhaps by the end of the year I'll witness this procedure in it's various stages. Clever stuff!
