A sad day in London as ten of our fire stations closed including Clerkenwell Station which is 140 years old and was the oldest in Britain. As the proud daughter of a retired fireman, I can completely understand how these firefighters must have felt leaving their station for the last time. Fire stations bring colleagues and families together in a special way and it must have been heartbreaking walking away. London will feel the impact of this stupid decision regardless of the rhetoric.

I thought I'd snap a picture outside Madame Tussauds tonight as it always looks like a ghost town in the evenings.
