A Tell Tale Sign

This is
to tell you that
underneath the duvet
there's a cat.

If you were unaware
and decided that
you fancied leaping,
probably naked,
from the wardrobe
on to the bed

this could,
although it would be fun
and exciting for us,
result in the cat

being an ex cat,
a no more cat,
a defunct cat,
a dearly departed cat.

He'd be done in.
Done for.
